About Me
Passionate Counselling Professional
Hi, my name is Claire King, and I am a qualified and accredited integrative counsellor offering short and long-term therapy for adults, adolescents and couples. I am a caring and empathic person and offer a friendly and non-judgemental space, where we can look at how emotional and psychological difficulties can become problematic. These can have a negative impact on our everyday life, so we aim to identify where repetitive patterns of behaviour may underlie your presenting symptoms. I have 4 years' experience working for the Samaritans, which led to the start of my counselling training in psychodynamic and humanistic approaches. I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

Speak to a counsellor who cares
The essence of our work is to facilitate self-growth by helping you identify the core challenges and setbacks in your life.
Therapy can help with many issues, some of which are briefly explained below.
Anxiety - something everyone can experience at times, however, when it becomes constant and causes feelings of worry and fear it can effect our behaviours in a negative way, disrupt sleep, cause feelings of unease and dread, and affect our ability to rationalise which can lead to panic attacks.
Depression - affects people in different ways and can cause a wide variety of symptoms. Feelings of persistent sadness and loss of interest, affect our mood and thoughts, and can lead to withdrawing and isolating ourselves.
Anger Management - Anger is considered a secondary emotion, which means there is some other emotion that is playing a role in how you are feeling. If anger is internalised it can lead to other problems such as depression, self-harm and addiction, so it is important to challenge it to see what lies behind it.
Post-Traumatic Stress - is an anxiety disorder caused by very stressful, frightening and distressing events. Psychological and emotional trauma occurs when a person's normal ways of coping and managing become overwhelmed, and therapy can help address the feelings of hopelessness and develop healthier ways of coping.
